To Secure Transportation Systems, Israel Launches National Cybersecurity Centre

On Tuesday, Israel’s Ministry of Transport and Road Safety announced the launch of a national centre to combat cyber threats in the transportation sector.

According to the ministry, the newly established security operation centre, which will unify all Israeli transportation bodies, aims to improve their ability to defend against cyberattacks.

The ministry stated that it will integrate knowledge and data amongst all modes of transportation on land, air, and sea, as well as boost the level of readiness to deal with cyber threats to ensure the continuity of public services.

The Israel Airports Authority will run the new centre, which will complement the existing aviation cybersecurity operation room at Ben Gurion International Airport outside of Tel Aviv.
