Mathan Babu leaves NPCI, joins Vodafone Idea as CISO

Mathan Babu Kasilingam has moved to Vodafone Idea Limited as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Prior to this new role, Mathan had held the same role with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for more than 3 years.

A seasoned professional with proven leadership abilities in information and cyber security, Mathan has worked for multiple firms including Mcafee, Wipro Infotech and HCL Infosystems Ltd where he held various profiles in Security & Data Availability Domains.

He was previously worked as the head of cyber security solutions and operations at HDFC Bank. Prior to that, he was Head of Information Security Business – BT India. Before joining BT, Mathan has spent close to six years in Symantec where he was responsible for direct account management & technology sales for some of the leading ITES companies in India.

Mathan has been responsible for delivering Security Architecture, Exhibiting Compliance and conducting Security Audits for several leading organizations in India, Singapore, Malaysia and Middle East.

Mathan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and has achieved his CISSP in 2006.
