AXA XL appoints Vanessa Karvela as Head of Client Management & Business Development, APAC & Europe

AXA XL Insurance announced it has appointed Vanessa Karvela as Head of Client Management & Business Development for its APAC & Europe Business Unit.

In this role, Karvela will be responsible for developing and implementing AXA XL’s client experience strategy in APAC & Europe in close collaboration with Country Leaders.

Commenting on the appointment, Bruno Laval, Chief Distribution Officer, APAC & Europe and Regional Manager, European Growth Markets, said: “Vanessa’s international background, business acumen and in-depth knowledge of our organisation, gained in various strategy roles at AXA Group and AXA XL, positions her ideally to help us deliver on that commitment while leveraging AXA XL’s global capabilities to the benefit of our clients.”

Karvela joined AXA Group as a Senior Strategy Manager in 2015 before moving to AXA XL in 2018, first as Chief of Staff within the Client & Country Management team and later as Chief of Staff for Doina Palici-Chehab, Senior Advisor to Group CEO. Prior to joining AXA, Karvela held several business development roles in banking and asset management. Karvela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the American College of Greece, a Master’s Degree in Finance & Strategy from Sciences Po and a MBA from INSEAD.
