Dell mulls selling RSA

Dell Technologies is reportedly mulling the sale of its RSA Security cybersecurity business for at least $1 billion, including debt, according to Bloomberg.

This is considerably lower than the amount of $ 2.1 billion that EMC paid for RSA Security in 2006. RSA came into the hands of Dell through the latter’s acquisition of EMC in 2016 for $67 billion.

Focusing on cyber security, RSA Security provides solutions for governance, risk and compliance and security incident event management and helps companies detect investigate, and respond to cyber threats, help reduce IP theft, fraud, and cybercrime. The company is known for its SecureID multifactor authentication tokens.
